Q. What is Counselling at Your Place?
A. Counselling at Your Place is an Australian Skype and telephone counselling service. We are available to debrief and to confidentially provide support and strategies on wide range of personal issues

 

Q. Can I receive counselling support afterhours and weekends?
A. Yes, we are available 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week, 365 day a year, including public holidays.

 

Q. What type of problems can I call about?
A. Some of the many issues we can help with include depression, relationship issues, workplace bullying, parenting, sexuality issues, anxiety, stress, anger, grief, dealing with change, retirement, drug and alcohol issues, smoking, retrenchment and redundancy.

 

Q Do I need a referral?
A. No referral is required. Simply book a session on our booking calendar to make an appointment, we confirm your appointment and call or Skype you back for your session.

 

Q. Why not just get support from work colleges, friends, partner or family?
A. Sometimes, when the issue is with work, friends, partner or family we need a counsellor’s support and neutral perspective.

 

Q. How much does it cost? How do I pay?
A. Costs are $43 for 30 a minute session or $86 for a 1 hour session. Payments are made securely by debit card, credit card or PayPal.

 

Q. Do you save credit card details?
A. No. Your credit card details are not stored on our servers. The information goes directly from your computer to our payment service provider.

 

Q. What is Counselling at Your Place’s counselling model?
A. Our counselling model utilises a caring, holistic person-centred approach and will never limit you to a ‘One size fits all’ method of counselling. We give you free resources and equip you with the specific tools and strategies that will best help you to resolve issues and life’s challenges.

From your first call, we carefully listen to you so you are completely heard and understood. We then facilitate the tools, strategies and support that will help you with your specific problems and issues.

Our mission statement is ‘To support our clients by facilitating practical therapeutic outcomes clearly and sensitively’.

Our counselling utilises respected psychological therapeutic methods such as solution focussed therapy, cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) , Narrative Therapy, Personal therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Transpersonal Therapy.

 

Q. Will I be able to access Counselling at Your Place with a Mental Health Plan Medicare rebate?
A. No. Our counselling fees are affordably and competitively priced and are close to the rebate gap.

 

Q. Is Counselling at Your Place a suicide, emergency or crisis service?
A. No. If you are experiencing an emergency or your issues are life threatening please call 000 or Lifeline on 131114.

 

Q. Is this service available for people under 18 years?
A. No. Only over 18 years of age can use our service. If you are under 18 you may wish to contact Kids Helpline Online.

 

Q. Will my health fund pay for Counselling at Your Place?
A. This depends on your Health fund provider, please check with your Health fund to find out if this service is covered under your policy.

 

Q. Will my employer pay for my Counselling?
A. You will need to check with your employer first.

 

Q. Is what I share in counselling confidential?
A. Yes, all personal information is confidential, unless you state you intend to seriously harm yourself or someone else, in that case we would have to pass this information on to the police.

 

Q. Can I also involve another person in my counselling session?
A. No. Counselling at Your Place is a one to one counselling service.

 

Q. Can I book more than one counselling session?
A. Yes, you can book up to two consecutive sessions and future sessions to suit your weekly schedule.

 

Q. What can I expect when I call Counselling at Your Place?
A. You will be heard and understood. We will not judge, pigeonhole or label you. We respect all lifestyles and your personal journey in life. What you share with your counsellor is confidential.

Q. What happens if I need to cancel, postpone, reschedule an appointment?
A. In accordance with normal professional practice 24-hours’ notice is required for cancellation or postponement of an appointment. Otherwise, the booking fee applies.
